This site is where I share some of the beauty I see in the world around me with the rest of my community. I hope you like the pictures I've made available.

The picture of the day is changed daily at 3 AM, Eastern Time. If you click on the picture above, you will enter a slide show of the pictures that have been displayed on this site.

There is also a calendar view (by month) of the available pictures which you can use to browse through the site. Note that when you make a selection on a calendar page, it takes you into the slide show at that picture, so that you can scroll back and forth from any date that you find interesting or convenient. (The monthly calendar view remembers which month you last looked at.)

If you'd like to see a calendar view of all of the pictures that have been displayed on this site, select "The Big List" from the menu at left. Please Note: There are currently 1962 pictures in "The Big List" - so the page will take a considerable amount of time to load!!

The pictures in the slide show are displayed at 1024x768 resolution. If you've got a screen with enough space (e.g., 1152x864 or 1280x1024), you'll be able to see the whole picture in your browser window without scrolling. On smaller screens, I'm afraid you'll have to scroll around to see complete pictures - at least for now...

I am working on a program, PbFpaper™, that will allow subscribers to have their winDoze desktop updated from this site each day. Subscriptions will be offered for several different screen resolutions, and the program will allow you to record your favorite selections, and redisplay them as your desktop background any time you want to. Once I have the winDoze version running, I'll be porting PbFpaper™ to FreeBSD and Linux, and at least to OS/X for Macintosh users.

In addition, limited edition prints of the photographs on this site are available through its sister site, LimitedEditionPhoto.com. The photos are printed using pigment-based inks for the maximum image life. Prints are offered either matted, or framed in any of a variety of styles. See the LimitedEditionPhoto.com site for further details.

... and, coming soon, PuzzleByFred.com where some of these photos will be offered as [1000 piece] jigsaw puzzles. (Do you have any preferences? Email your requests to me at puzzle.suggest@PhotoByFred.com - I am open to suggestions...)

... also coming soon, PosterByFred.com where some of these photos will be offered as inexpensive [inspirational] wall posters. (Do you have any preferences? As with the puzzles, I'm open to suggestions, so email requests or ideas to me at poster.suggest@PhotoByFred.com)

Thanks for your interest in my photos! Feel free to send me an email through the "Webmaster" link at the bottom of any page if you would like more information.

Ultimately, the purpose of this site is to support private space exploration and development (see L5Development.com for more information about the effort). As a measure of encouragement to join those enabling it, half of the subscription fees from PbFpaper™ will be deposited into an "L5 dollars" account in the subscriber's name at The L5 National Bank.
